Well, there are lot articles on scientism and its effects, but few popular masterworks. People these days don't tend to be critical of science worship, although I think recent events have renewed interest.
The most serious contemporary critic (that I know of) is Mikael Stenmark. I am reading a book of his now. E. F. Schumacher's, A Guide for the Perplexed, is next, but the book is dated.
